The commutators of analysis and interpolation

summary:The boundedness properties of commutators for operators are of central importance in Mathematical Analysis, and some of these commutators arise in a natural way from interpolation theory. Our aim is to present a general abstract method to prove the boundedness of the commutator $[T,\Omega]$ for linear operators $T$ and certain unbounded operators $\Omega$ that appear in interpolation theory, previously known and a priori unrelated for both real and complex interpolation methods, and also to show how the abstract result applies to some very concrete examples. In Section 1 some examples are given to present some instances where these commutators are used in Analysis. Section 2 is the basic one and contains a general “commutator theorem” for operators of interpolation methods, and the basic idea is that $\Omega$ appears as a combination of two admissible interpolation methods, $\Phi$ and $\Psi$, that correspond to $\Phi(F)=F(\vartheta)$ and $\Psi(f)=F'(\vartheta)$ in the case of the complex method, with $\Omega(f)=\Psi(F)$ if $\Phi(F)=f$ (with a natural boundedness condition over the norms). Section 3 deals with the complex interpolation method and contains typical applications to commutators with pointwise multipliers. Section 4 refers to the real method, and an application to commutators with Fourier multipliers is included

Desxifrant la base molecular de la formació de l'ou en els peixos marins

La hidratació de l'oòcit de peixos marins durant les darreres fases de la formació de l'ou és un factor crític per al desenvolupament i supervivència correctes de l'embrió. No obstant això, encara que s'ha avançat molt en el coneixement dels mecanismes que controlen la maduració meiòtica dels oòcits de peixos, els mecanismes moleculars implicats en la hidratació són molt desconeguts. En aquest treball es revisen estudis que han identificat els principals efectors osmòtics durant la hidratació de l'oòcit de peixos, així com els darrers treballs que han descobert per primera vegada la funció d'un nou canal molecular d'aigua (aquaporina, AQP) durant aquest procés. El canal descobert, anomenat aquaporina-1b (Aqp1b), pertany a una nova subfamília d'AQP, similars a l'aquaporina-1 (AQP1) de mamífers, que ha evolucionat específicament en teleostis possiblement per duplicació gènica, seguida d'una divergència estructural de l'extrem carboxiterminal de la proteïna, amb adquisició de dominis reguladors del transport intracel·lular, i la neofuncionalització posterior en oòcits, per al transport d'aigua. Aquests estudis estan contribuint, per tant, a desxifrar la base molecular de la producció d'ous viables en peixos marins.The hydration of the oocyte of marine fish during the last stages of egg formation is a critical factor for the correct development and survival of the embryo. However, although increasing information is available on the mechanisms that control meiotic maduration in fish oocytes, the identification of the molecular mechanisms involved in oocyte hydration remain elusive. In this work, I review the studies that have identified the main osmotic effectors playing a role during oocyte hydration, as well as recent works that have discovered for first time the function of a novel molecular water channel (aquaporin, AQP) during this process. This channel, called aquaporin-1b (Aqp1b), belongs to a new subfamily of AQPs, similar to the mammalian aquaporin-1 (AQP1), that has evolved specifically in teleosts possibly by gene duplication, followed by structural divergence at the C terminus of the protein and acquisition of regulatory domains for the control of intracellular transport, and further neofunctionalization in oocytes for water uptake. These studies are thus contributing to uncover the molecular basis of the production of viable eggs in marine fish

Phase diagram for a single flexible Stockmayer polymer at zero field

The equilibrium conformations of a flexible permanent magnetic chain that consists of a sequence of linked magnetic colloidal nanoparticles with short-ranged Lennard-Jones attractive interactions (Stockmayer polymer) are thoroughly analysed via Langevin dynamics simulations. A tentative phase diagram is presented for a chain of length $N=100$. The phase diagram exhibits several unusual conformational phases when compared with the non-magnetic chains. These phases are characterised by a large degree of conformational anisotropy, and consist of closed chains, helicoidal-like states, partially collapsed states, and very compact disordered states. The phase diagram contains several interesting features like the existence of at least two 'triple points'

Aquaporin Evolution in Fishes

Aquaporins represent a primordial group of transmembrane solvent channels that have been documented throughout the living biota. This facet alone emphasizes the positive selection pressure for proteins associated with intracellular fluid homeostasis. Amongst extant Eukaryota the highest gene copy number can be found in plants and teleosts, a feature that reflects the genomic duplication history in both groups. In this minireview we discuss the discovery, structure, duplication, and diversification of the aquaporin superfamily. We focus on teleosts as the main models, but include data available for other organisms to provide a broader perspective

La participació dels municipis en la millora de l’educació. Una proposta: crear un observatori municipal de l’educació

Aquest article revisa, en una primera part, el paper que juguen els municipis quan a intervenció educativa, tot reivindicant un major protagonisme en els aspectes que afecten directament el rendiment educatiu de l’alumnat i la contunuitat en els estudis. D’entre les mesures que se proposen com a bàsiques per treballar en aquesta direcció, se’n desenvolupa una que ha de ser de les primeres: la creació d’un Observatori Municipal d’Educació. En la segona part de l’article s’expliquen els criteris que s’han tengut en compta per a la seva creació, per seguidament relacionar els indicadors específi cament d’interès municipal que han de formar part d’aquest observatori.Este artículo revisa, en una primera parte, el papel que juegan los municipios en cuanto a intervención educativa, reivindicando un mayor protagonismo en los aspectos que afectan directamente en el rendimiento educativo del alumnado y a la contunuidad en los estudios. De entre las medidas que se proponen como básicas para trabajar en esta dirección, se desarrolla una que tiene que ser de las primeras: la creación de un Observatorio Municipal de Educación. En la segunda parte del artículo se explican los criterios que se han tenido en cuenta para su creación, para seguidamente relacionar los indicadores específi camente de interés municipal que deben formar parte de este observatorio

Aquí se contienen cuatro obras muy santas, todas expurgadas y atribuidas a Joan Timoneda

Resumen: Estudiamos y editamos las siguientes poesías devotas: 1) Digas, hortelano; 2) A vos, Virgen pía, estrella que guía; 3) Yo conozco, digo y cuento; 4) Oíd, reina que al cielo. La edición más antigua conocida que las reúne todas, aunque sine notis, se publicó en Valencia hacia 1561-1563, con una rúbrica que atribuía la primera a Joan Timoneda, la tercera a Francisco de Argüello y la última a Ángel González. Otros testimonios posteriores, y también algunos índices expurgatorios, consideran que las cuatro obras fueron compuestas por Timoneda, a quien Pere Salvà i Mallén asignó de manera más particular la segunda, es decir la Pavana de Nuestra Señora, aunque esta fue impresa en un pliego poético datable hacia 1533-1535 y, por tanto, parece anterior al período de actividad literaria del mencionado poeta. Si durante los siglos XVI-XVII estos poemas se difundieron conjuntamente en forma de pliego suelto, se nota la ausencia de testimonios impresos en el Setecientos, justo cuando entraron en los índices de libros prohibidos. Aparte de describir las fuentes antiguas localizadas, establecemos algunas conexiones entre estas cuatro obras y otras muestras poéticas circunscritas al contexto valenciano de mediados del siglo XVI.Palabras clave: Siglo XVI, poesía castellana, transmisión textual, edición, Valencia, Joan Timoneda, contrafactumAbstract: We study and edit four Spanish poems with the following opening lines: 1) Digas, hortelano; 2) A vos, Virgen pía, estrella que guía; 3) Yo conozco, digo y cuento; 4) Oíd, reina que al cielo. The earliest known edition that includes all of them was published sine notis (but probably in Valencia from 1561 to 1563) with a rubric that attributed the first work to Joan Timoneda, the third one to Francisco de Argüello and the last one to Ángel González. Some later literary sources and indexes of forbidden books consider that the four pieces were composed by Joan Timoneda, at whom Pere Salvà i Mallén assigned more specifically the second poem, titled Pavana de Nuestra Señora, although it was printed in a chapbook datable circa 1533-1535 and therefore it seems written prior to Timoneda’s output. These four pieces were published together in chapbook form during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, but there is no evidence of its printed transmission during the eighteenth century, just when they were expurgated.
